Information Resources on Old World Camels: Arabian and Bactrian 1941-2004
Compiled by Jean Larson, of the Animal Welfare Information Center, USA, this site is a compilation of old world camel information resources and is designed to address the need to understand their nutrition and health care needs, reproduction, behavior, physiology, diseases, veterinary care and responses to new climates.

Compiled by Jean Larson, of the Animal Welfare Information Center, USA, this site is a compilation of South American Camelid information resources. Anesthetic Management of Camelids
Authored by K.R. Mama, Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Colorado State University, USA, this is a review article on the anaesthetic management of camelids. Focusing primarily on llamas and alpacas, the article includes brief descriptions of anaesthetic techniques. Linked references are includes at the end of the article.

Published on the web by IVIS. Lecture notes for a short course in reproduction in the dromedary camel organized by J.A. Skidmore DVM PhD at the Camel Reproduction Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on January 26-28, 2004. Includes sections on male and female reproductive anatomy and physiolgy, pregnancy, embryo transfer, and artificial insemination. Users need to register with IVIS to access material. Registration is free.

Recent advances in camelid reproduction
Electronic book edited by L. I. Skidmore, DVM PhD and G. P. Adams, DVM PhD, and published by IVIS, Ithaca NY, in 2003. Includes chapters on reproductive physiology, pregnancy diagnosis, obstetrics, artificial insemination, and embryo transfer. Users must register with IVIS to gain access. Registration is free.

Artificial insemination in alpacas (Lama pacos)
Report authored by Jane Vaughan, David Galloway, and David Hopkins for the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation in November 2003. The aim of the project was to develop the technology for artificial insemination in alpacas and achieve acceptable pregnacy rates after AI.

Improving the efficiency of reproduction and breeding in alpacas
Report authored by Jane Vaughan for the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation in July 2002. "The aim of this project was to develop a practical protocol that would allow fixed-time mating of alpacas at a known stage of ovarian follicular development, in association with improved pregnancy rates following mating".
