The Feline Advisory Bureau: Information for cat owners
The Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) is an organisation based in the United Kingdom dedicated to the cat and its veterinary care. Over 60 information sheets on a broad range of cat related issues can be accessed from this page. Listed titles include chlamydial infection in cats; feline leukaemia virus - FeLV and euthanasia as well as other more general titles such as feline flea control.

Cats and Wildlife The California Department of Fish and Game Habitat Conservation Planning Branch's site provides links to national and international sites outlining the effects of free-ranging domestic cats on wildlife. The links cover management schemes and issues, environmental impact studies and give examples of plans and guidelines to control this problem.
Cat Specialist Group "The Cat Specialist Group consists of the world's leading scientists and wildlife managers involved with the 36 species of wild cats in more than 50 countries. It is one of over 100 similar groups of scientists and other specialists from all over the world forming part of the Species Survival Commission of the World Conservation Union (IUCN)." Their Web site provided information on various species of wild cats and the threats each species faces. The information is organised by region and species, as well as by category of vulnerability. The site is illustrated with a number of images.
Clinical Neurology in Small Animals: Localization, Diagnosis and Treatment 2nd Edition Electronic textbook edited by C.H. Vite and K.G. Braund and published online by International Veterinary Information Service (IVIS). The book features sections on neuroanatomical localisation and syndromes, etiological categories of neurological diseases, neurodiagnostic techniques, and special therapeutic techniques. The complete textbook is freely available online, however it is necessary to register with IVIS first. Registration is free.

Cat Genome Project Website of the Cat Genome Project, located at the National Cancer Institute / Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center, Frederick, MD. "Research focuses on development of the cat as an animal model for human hereditary disease, infectious disease, genome evolution, comparative research initiatives within the family Felidae, and forensic potential." The site includes details of genetic markers and genetic maps.
Feline Genome Project "The Feline Genome Project is an effort to develop feline specific genetic tools and resources to improve feline and human health. Using the cat as an animal model, the Feline Genome Project hopes to elucidate the genes controlling simple and complex traits and diseases that are found in the cat and other species. General population dynamics of breed and domestic cat evolution are also a focus of the project." It is based at the University of California: Davis.
ARKdb Cat Mapping Database Website of the Cat Genome Mapping Project maintained by the Roslin Institute, UK.
"The ARKdb database system provides comprehensive public repositories for genome mapping data from farmed and other animal species, providing a resource similar in function to that offered by GDB or MGD for human or mouse mapping data respectively. Data stored includes details of loci and markers, references/papers, authors, genetic linkage map assignments, cytogenetic map assignments, experimental techniques, PCR primers and conditions and any other data pertaining to genome mapping.
